Zoning Administrator

The City Council has designated the City Administrator to also serve as the City's Zoning Administrator. The Zoning Administrator is responsible for the enforcement and interpretation of the City's Zoning Ordinance as well as providing recommendations on planning and zoning issues to the Planning Commission and City Council.

Building Inspector/Code Enforcement

The City also employs a Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer whom is responsible for the issuance of building permits and inspection of those projects. The Building Inspector is also responsible for the enforcement of several building, sign, and animal control codes.

The Building inspector's office hours are from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. Please call the Building Inspector for alternate hours if required.

The City of Dell Rapids maintains a Joint Zoning relationship with Minnehaha County outside the corporate boundaries of the City.
