Police Protection

The Minnehaha County Sheriff's Department provides law enforcement to the City of Dell Rapids under a Police Service Agreement. Sheriff Deputies are assigned to specifically work within the City for a minimum of 160 hours per week.

School Resource Officers are also provided to Dell Rapids Public and St. Mary's Schools. A sub-station is maintained at City Hall for the use of Sheriff's Deputies.

Dell Rapids Community Ambulance

Dell Rapids Community Ambulance provides emergency medical services to the city of Dell Rapids and the surrounding area. The department is comprised of 22 volunteers with certifications of EMT-B, EMT-I and EMT-P. Two Type III Ambulances are maintained by the department. The two vehicles are housed adjacent to the Dells Area Health Center at 909 N. Iowa Ave.

Dell Rapids Volunteer Fire Department

Fire Protection is provided to the community and surrounding area by volunteer fire department consisting of 29 dedicated individuals.
